2) 2 year tax credit for up to $75,000 on new residential building construction within two years being built

3) 3 year exemption to improvements

A. Major renovation for residential properties over 25 years of age

B. Major renovation for commercial buildings

4) Exemptions for blind and wheelchair -bound persons

A. Need signed physician's form

5) Exemptions for charitable organizations

6) Homestead Credit information

A. Age 65 and older or disabled

B. Income less than $17,500

C. Home ownership/must reside in

D.  Assets less than $50,000, excluding $100,000 value of homestead

7) Exemptions for disabled individuals and veterans

A. Disabled

  1. Income less than $17,500

  2. Need signed physician's form indicating permanent and total disability

B. Veterans

  1. 50% or more\service related disabled

  2. Copy DD214

  3. Copy of % of service related disability w/ date

8) Method of appealing your property valuation

A. Visit with your local assessment office with facts about your property value.

B. The assessment staff will advise you of your options:

1. The City Board of Equalization meets the second Tuesday of April each year - City Council

2. The County Board of Equalization meets the first Tuesday of June each year - County Commissioners

3. The State Board of Equalization meets the second Tuesday of August each year - in Bismarck

4. The abatement of taxes form is filed at the County Director of Tax Equalization Office - Ward County Courthouse
