Previous education, experience and firefighter certifications - 10pts

Firefighter written exam - 30pts

Physical Agility Exam (sub-total points) - 30pts

Interview - 30pts

Veterans Preference - 5% of total points

(disabled veteran - 10%)

Scoring of education, experience and certifications

Education - maximum points allowed - 45pts

Trade school fire science certificate - 10pts

Associate degree - 10pts

Associates fire science degree - 10pts

Bachelor degree - 40pts

Bachelor fire science degree - 45pts

Experience - maximum points allowed - 30pts

Each year experience on a career department - 10pts

Each year experience on a volunteer department - 3pts

(The chief of the volunteer department must verify the following for the candidate:

Attendance greater than 70% of department meetings, training and calls. Training and

experience in fire attack, engine operations, ground ladders, S.C.B.A., and vehicle extrication

is required.)
