Minot Police Department Patrol Division

The patrol division is made up of three 10 hour shifts, those being a day shift working from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the afternoon shift works from 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. and the night shift works 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. The patrol shift is made up of one lieutenant, two sergeants and nine patrol officers. Also, each shift has four permanent communications officers who answer the radio and telephones. The Minot Police Department has two animal control officers and one parking control officer who are normally assigned to the day and afternoon shifts. The duties of the patrol division is responding to requests for service of the public, enforcing laws and ordinances and investigating accidents and complaints.
